New numbers from the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island show that the area's housing market is starting to heat up again.
According to MLSLI, the median price of a home in Nassau rose 13 percent last month. In Suffolk, the prices jumped 15 percent.
Realtors say record-low mortgage rates and affordable home prices have helped fuel the change. In addition, first-time buyers can now take advantage of an $8,000 credit.
