An East Hampton school teacher says she was manhandled by security guards while protesting at the meeting of the rules committee of the Democratic National Committee in the nation?s capitol over the weekend.
Sen. Hillary Clinton supporter Debra Foster says she traveled to the hearing because she thought the DNC was not being fair to her candidate and her supporters. The committee met to decide on a compromise to divvy up the delegates from Florida and Michigan, which the DNC had previously decided would not be seated at the summer convention.
Foster, 64, says she and others were protesting and chanting at the back of the hearing and were subsequently thrown out. She says a security guard grabbed her arm and tossed her out, leaving big purple bruises on the inside of her bicep.
Foster says the bruises represent ?how many of us feel bruised, pushed aside by party insiders who have already decided the outcome.?
A video interview with Foster that took place after she was kicked out of the hearing has been widely viewed on YouTube.
