A beloved Bronx rapper was honored in his hometown borough with a ceremony and street renaming Monday.
Christopher Lee Rios, better known as Big Pun, now has his name forever honored in the Bronx.
Big Pun Plaza is located on the corner of East Fordham Road and Grand Concourse.
Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., members of Big Pun’s family and other members of the rap community were in attendance.
Rios died in 2000. He is well-known for being the first Latino rapper to go platinum after selling over a million copies.
