Neighbors and friends are shaken up after a woman was found dead at her Lake Grove home.
The woman's identity is Tricia Odierna Leitgeb, according to neighbors and friends.
Police told News 12 Long Island last night that they had not spoken with her husband but that they wanted to. Neighbors identify the husband as Paul Leitgeb, a retired NYPD officer. Police say that there was another resident home when officers arrived yesterday afternoon, but they do not believe that individual saw anything.
Longtime neighbor Kevin Kristoff says he doesn't know of any trouble at the home.
"I've never been a witness to any kind of argument or anything like that," he says.
Lauren Aichinger says she lost her best friend, who she describes as a woman who would go out of her way to help others. Aichinger says Tricia even took in her nephews after her sister passed away.
"She has her two little ones and then she has her three nephews that they took in and adopted," says Aichinger. "And now who's going to take care of all these kids? They've been through so much as a family."
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information on this is urged to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
