A 91-year old veteran, who has been denied a Purple Heart four times, was honored Thursday.
Jerry Cramer, of East Northport, sustained severe frostbite wounds -- from which he still suffers -- during the Korean War.
While other vets were given Purple Hearts for their injuries, Cramer was denied four times due to a change in regulations.
Rep. Tom Suozzi made sure Cramer received his military decoration.
"It was cold, it was 25 below zero, and you had no shelter," said Cramer. "It was just like being in this lot here and just laying down, so thank you everybody."
A congressional citation was also given to Cramer recognizing his service to the United States.
Editor's Note: A previous version of this story erroneously stated Cramer received a Purple Heart. He is still fighting for it.
