Long Island store owners are hoping to see scores of shoppers for Small Business Saturday.
Nearly 60% of Americans say they will shop at small businesses Saturday this year, according to a survey by QuickBooks.
Sayville was bustling with shoppers on Main Street, which featured trolley rides and family entertainment.
The Sayville Chamber of Commerce is also reminding Long Islanders to continue to shop locally throughout the year.
“It's very important to keep your money local. Keep your businesses is thriving, keep your main street alive,” said Chamber president Eileen Tyzner. “That's what this whole entire thing is about. Keep your small businesses alive. They are the backbone of everything.”
Dominique Maciejka, owner of Paper Doll Vintage Boutique, says the festivities on Main Street help support the downtown businesses.
“This year we're getting all of our regular customers back. People are so excited for the other festivals that happen that I expect nothing less of this one,” she said.
