Closing arguments were given Monday in the corruption trial of former state Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.
As News 12 has reported, Silver is accused of using his power in Albany to take nearly $5 million in kickbacks and payoffs while working at a Manhattan law firm.
Federal prosecutors say Silver was motivated by greed.
He maintains the referral fees were legal and says he will be vindicated.
The jury is expected to begin deliberations Tuesday.
