The man charged with posing as a cop and killing a Garden City South man last year has been found guilty on all charges.
Prosecutors say Reginald Gousse pulled over HSBC bank manager James Gottlieb in Franklin Square on January 5, 2005 in an SUV rigged with police lights and a siren. Authorities say Gousse demanded the keys to the bank, then shot and killed Gottlieb when he refused. The defense had contended that police received a tip about another suspect, but had Gousse pegged as the murderer from the beginning.
Gousse was convicted of first-degree murder and officials expect he will serve life in prison without parole. Gousse will be sentenced next month.
