Long Island?s lone Democratic state Sen. Craig Johnson (District 7) staved off a challenge from Republican Plandome Manor Mayor Barbara Donno to retain his seat.
Donno?s ads attempted to link her opponent to a scandal over school district lawyer pensions. Johnson?s camp called the ads slanderous.
Johnson held onto the seat 56 percent to 44 percentage points.
