Police are investigating a crash that killed the driver of a cement truck in Bayport this morning.

According to police, John Gagliano was driving a 1990 Mack cement truck eastbound on Sunrise Highway, west of Nicolls Road, when he lost control of the vehicle at 7:39 a.m. The truck struck the median and overturned.

Gagliano, 57, of Islip Terrace, was ejected from the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck, which is owned by Giaquinto Masonry Inc. in Deer Park, was impounded for a safety check.
