Nassau County hosted a forum Thursday to combat a rise in antisemitic crimes.
Thirty reported hate crimes against Jewish people have been reported in the county in the last year, but only three arrests have been made.
Members of the Jewish community spoke out about personal experiences they have had dealing with hate.
"Antisemitism is something that I have experienced since the age of five on the school playground," said Sofie Glassman. "A girl told me I wasn't allowed to play with her because I was Jewish."
She says the hate is still front and center at her school with antisemitic comments being hurled in her direction. Glassman also says on Wednesday there were swastikas etched into some of the stalls in the boys bathrooms.
Others also described incidents of vandalism and theft at sacred places.
