Jack Abrams School in Huntington Station to reopen
The Jack Abrams School in Huntington Station is reopening after being closed for more than three years.
The staff is getting ready to reopen in September as the Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School for grades three to five.
The school was shut down in 2010 because of a rise in violent crime.
Statistics show crime is down in the community more than 19 percent over the last couple of years. Suffolk police say this is due to increased patrols and a lot of hard work.
