First responders were reunited with patients they saved at Northwell’s “Second Chance Luncheon.”

The event was held at The Inn at New Hyde Park on Tuesday.

Alan Schwalberg, vice president of Northwell Health Center for Emergency Medical Services, said “It is an event that just hits you in the heart.”

Alexander Palma, a patient who met with the responders who saved him after he went into cardiac arrest, said he had “goosebumps.”

The event was held during the 50th anniversary of National EMS Week, which is celebrated from May 19 through May 25.
