News 12 Long Island has learned a top educator in the Island Park School District has stepped down.

Adam Frankel resigned as principal at Hegarty Elementary effective immediately.

The district has not released any details as to why and say it is a personnel matter.Two other administrators will take over for now until a permanent replacement is named.
