The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is warning taxpayers of a new scam involving refunds.
According to the agency, scammers are mailing letters with the IRS masthead.
The letter says the person has an unclaimed refund and asks for a photo of a driver's license and your bank routing information.
The IRS says red flags to look for include strange wording, bad punctuation and wrong information about deadlines.
As a reminder, the IRS will never contact you via email, text or through social media.
