A Huntington man received a warm welcome home Sunday after spending nearly 200 days in the hospital fighting COVID-19.
Joe DiRaimo came home from the hospital on Friday, and Sunday was his big welcome home ceremony with friends and family driving by showing the love.
"Everyone was checking in on me during the pandemic, people were bringing supplies to my house, they were making sure my wife Christine and Joe and Victoria were OK. FaceTimed me every day. It's just overwhelming how good people are, and it's nice to see the good side of people," he says.
DiRaimo says he can't wait to get back to work as a lawyer, and he says the best part about being home besides being with his family is not eating hospital food anymore.
