A Huntington man accused of faking his kidnapping to scam his mother will face a judge today.
Police say Michael Sorbera sent a text to his 62-year-old mother claiming he was in trouble.
She also allegedly got a call from an unidentified suspect threatening to hurt Sorbera if she didn't wire money.
During the call, police tell News 12 that Sobera begged his mother to send the ransom.
Investigators say that it was all a hoax.
