The Elmont girls basketball coach who died after collapsing at a playoff game was laid to rest Monday.More than 700 family, friends, students and faculty said goodbye to Gregg Petrocelli, also known as Coach Petro. Petrocelli was a guidance counselor at Elmont High School for 12 years and the coach of the girls basketball team for nine years.Petrocelli collapsed during a playoff game at John F. Kennedy High School in Bellmore last Tuesday. The game was stopped and continued on Friday. Elmont lost a close game to Hicksville High School that saw both teams in tears when the game ended. An autopsy concluded the 38-year-old coach died from a ruptured artery. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.Six buses with students and faculty from Elmont High School arrived at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church in Hauppauge for the funeral.
