A homeless man was arrested in North New Hyde Park Friday for trying to withdraw money from another man’s bank account.

Police say the 60-year-old victim contacted his bank after noticing multiple unauthorized withdrawals from his Bethpage Federal Credit Union account on Monday.

On Friday, police say 61-year-old Phillippe Berkowitz entered the bank on Hillside Avenue and attempted to withdraw money from the victim’s account using a fake ID.

The bank teller immediately notified police and officers arrested Berkowitz. Authorities say he will be arraigned sometime Saturday.
