A home health aide has been accused of stealing her 69-year-old patient’s identity and making $138,000 worth of unauthorized charges in her name.

Detectives say Doris Chou, 56, was working as an aide for the victim in Garden City Park.

Between November 2023 and November 2024, she allegedly opened five credit card accounts and financed a car loan using the woman’s name without her knowledge or permission.

Chou turned herself in to police on Friday. She faces multiple counts of identity theft and grand larceny.

Police say she was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
