For many Long Islanders, the holiday season wouldn't be complete without a trip to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. This year a Holtsville resident has claimed her spot in the Rockettes lineup. News 12's Elisa DiStefano goes backstage to find out how the magic happens!

Holtsville native and Sachem grad Jennifer Clavin says dancing on the stage is a dream come true, but it's a lot of work.

Clavin and her friend and fellow Rockette Sam Burns say each show involves more than 200 kicks alone, in addition to other dance moves. They add that there are sometimes up to four shows a day.

According to Clavin, what happens behind the scenes is just as choreographed as the show. There are eight costume changes and sometimes as little as 78 seconds between numbers to change. Clavin says new this year is a snowflake costume. "[And] just like snowflakes, every costume is different," she says.
