A Holtsville man is being accused of ordering his dog to attack a Suffolk police officer.Suffolk County police were called to Dwight Jackson's home on Cherry Avenue Wednesday for a domestic dispute. They say Jackson ordered the dog to go after them and bit a police sergeant on the leg. Police say two officers then shot the dog to stop the attack. Neighbors say they aren't surprised to hear of the incident. They say dogs are always running around the house and have also attacked other dogs.Jackson is expected to be arraigned Thursday on assault charges. The sergeant received treatment for the bite and the dog was in stable condition as it awaited surgery.
