With Holocaust Remembrance Day soon, one survivor of that time spoke to a large crowd on Thursday in Plainview.

Eric Lipetz chatted at Plainview-Old Bethpage High School about his experience and the modern-day issues facing Jewish people.

"I’ve seen what happens at war,” Lipetz said. “I know what war does. I've seen people killed. I've seen people tortured, I’ve seen mothers cry. We really have to learn to live with each other and be nice to each other."

The Lipetz’s event also featured workshops on combating antisemitism and memorializing the Holocaust.
