Santa Claus hitched a ride to Cantiague Park onboard a fire truck Saturday to help celebrate a special holiday party for Nassau's active-duty families.
Families got a chance to ice skate for free and take pictures with Santa. Children were also able to select a new toy, and had a chance to win a new bike.
The active-duty family party hosted by the county is in its 13th year.
"It was truly a surprising opportunity and I almost turned it down because I kind of was in disbelief and floored at what they did for us today," said Nicole Downey, who serves in the Navy.
