? Community members in Holbrook are chipping in to give one injured soldier something to look forward to on Veterans Day.
A roadside bomb in Iraq took Cpl. Chris Levi?s legs and severely damaged his right arm. The young soldier now has a new set of challenges awaiting him when he returns home, but Holbrook?s bravest are making sure they do their part to help him.
Volunteers have been working seven days a week since August to make sure the ground floor of Levi?s home is converted into a wheelchair-accessible apartment.
?It?s just the sacrifice that this young [man] made,? says volunteer Mike Barhold. ?It?s payback. To pay him back, because the position he?s in, how could you not help him??
The volunteers hope to have the renovations finished by December so Levi can come home for Christmas.
