The Commission of Presidential Debates has announced that Hofstra University will host a presidential debate on Sept. 26.
Wright State University was slated to host, but pulled out - citing mounting costs and security concerns.
On Sept. 23, 2015, the commission announced that Hofstra University had agreed to serve as an alternate site this debate cycle if needed.
The debate will be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics to be selected by the moderator and announced at least one week before the debate.
Hofstra's president Stuart Rabinowitz released a statement saying, "This is an extraordinary privilege and responsibility. We greatly appreciate the faith shown in us and we have begun preparations for a very successful debate."
