Demonstrators at Hofstra's Hempstead campus Friday called for the removal of a statue of President Thomas Jefferson.
They want the statue of Jefferson removed because he was a slave owner.
Others say the statue should stay because of Jefferson's role as a founding father.
A school meeting on the issue will be held April 9.
