A Hicksville man is accused of driving drunk and causing a serious accident.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Friday.

Police were called to Old Country Road at Division Avenue where they say Michael Blanco, 21, crashed his 2017 Dodge Charger into a 2013 Toyota Highlander, causing it to overturn.

Four people were inside the Highlander at the time. All were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police say there was a strong smell of alcohol on Blanco's breath, he had glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet.

He has been charged with DWI and is expected to be arraigned today.
