A broad daylight shooting in Hempstead put an elementary school in a temporary lockdown Tuesday afternoon.
Police say they recovered six bullet slugs at a residential apartment complex on Martin Luther King Drive. The incident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. at Building 32.
Behind the complex is Franklin Elementary School, which was placed on lockdown shortly after 1 p.m. The lockdown was lifted at 2 p.m.
Police say they are reviewing video recorded by several surveillance cameras around the complex.
Authorities have not released information regarding suspects or a motive. They did confirm that no one was hurt.
