There will soon be increased police presence on Suffolk County highways to enhance safety.
Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine and Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina will officially make the announcement on Wednesday.
The police department’s Street Takeover Task Force, which began as a pilot program in November, will be extended.
All Suffolk County officers will also focus extra attention on distracted driving offenses through April 14.
