All across the Bronx, cooling centers including libraries, senior centers, and other community centers, will be open for residents to cool down until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
According to NYC Emergency Management, air-conditioned environments are the safest place for older adults, children, and people with preexisting health issues to be today.
If you are outside, it's recommended to
  • Drink water
  • Wear light, loose-fitted clothes
  • Avoid strenuous activity
  • Reduce time outdoors
To find the closest cooling center to you, you can either call 311 or visit the cooling center finder here.
