Health officials say more than one person connected with each of these restaurants has the virus.
Those who were potentially exposed are urged to monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days after visiting either restaurant.
Statement from Phil at Phil’s Restaurant to News 12:
“Phil’s has been 100 percent transparent with the Department of Health having several conversations with a DOH nurse. We voluntarily called 311 during this situation to gain as much direction as we possibly could. Phil’s closed on November 25th and 26th so that we could thoroughly review the staff work schedule to ensure that anyone that might have been in contact or worked with a positive staff member was not in the building during this period and remained out thru the quarantine time period. I feel we have taken all the necessary measures to be one of the safest restaurants from day one of reopening, to keep our customers and staff In the safest environment possible. All of us at Phil’s would like to thank our loyal customers for their continued support." -Philip Marcario
Senor Taco Statement:
Senor Taco Express located in Mt Sinai continues to follow the safety guidelines provided by NY State & has been working closely with the Suffolk County Health Department over the last several days to help with contact tracing. Senor Taco Mt Sinai is regularly disinfecting the store and was closed for business on November 26, 2020 for a deep cleaning. However, it is important to note that our business is 95% pick up & curbside with limited interaction between customers and our staff. We have also been operating under very limited occupancy since March of this year. Furthermore, Senor Taco Mt Sinai has continued to follow a strict mask wearing guideline for both employees and customers. We also have markings to reinforce 6 feet of physical distancing & designated hand sanitizing stations to ensure proper hygiene. To limit customer contact even further, Senor Taco Mt Sinai recently invested in new technology that allows for online ordering, QR bar code menu scanning & handheld devices to help support our curbside pick-up orders. Senor Taco Mt Sinai continues to take all measures and precautions necessary to keep our valued community and staff healthy and safe during these difficult times. As always thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Senor Taco Mt Sinai
