The change in seasons Wednesday brings more bugs and mosquitoes to the Bronx.
Many residents spend more time outdoors in the warmer weather. Health officials are reminding people to protect themselves from the West Nile virus. The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will be doing its part to prevent the virus by spraying parts of the borough.
The spraying will begin June 20 between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. in Pelham Bay Park North. The spraying will continue in the north section through June 22. Health officials say the spray is not harmful, but ask residents with asthma or other respiratory problems to remain indoors.
