Health care demonstrators flock to Hicksville

The heated debate over health care reform spilled onto the streets of Hicksville Thursday.
Supporters and opponents of the president's plan to overhaul health care lined Newbridge Road. Passionate demonstrators from both sides wanted to be heard.
"If you read the bill, it's a little scary that they want to cut off funding for the people that are really in need - the elderly," says Ernie Linder, of Hauppauge.
"I'm paying out of my pension, on a fixed income, for some of my health care and down the road they're going to drop me like a rotten egg," counters Elliot Galant, of East Meadow. "That's why we need national health care."
