The Bishop Ford High School boys basketball team beat Cardinal Hayes High School Tuesday, dashing Hayes' hopes of reliving an important 2006 game.The Bronx teams met in Brooklyn, where Bishop Ford's junior point guard Chazz Williams helped propel the Falcons to an early 8-0 lead. Williams scored 24 points and had nine assists in the game.
Hayes regrouped, thanks to Jeffrey Paulino, who helped bring Hayes within six points. Paulino then made his way down the court to feed the ball to Corey Kiser, who laid up a two-pointer.Paulino scored an impressive 23 points in a losing effort, as Hayes fell to Bishop Ford 59-48.
Last year, Hayes eliminated Ford in the semifinals of the New York Catholic High Schools' Athletic Association playoffs.
