News 12 viewers sent in videos that showed an object in the sky over Long Island and other parts of the tri-state area early Sunday.
The fireball was determined to be part of a SpaceX Falcoln 9 reusable rocket.
The Falcoln 9 launched just after 6 a.m. from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The satellites were launched about an hour after liftoff.
