Hundreds of people gathered in Hampton Bays on Sunday to watch a pair of harbor seals return to the water.
Ares and Hermes were found in the fall, and were underweight, dehydrated and suffering from breathing problems.
They were nursed back to health by the Riverhead Foundation.
The seals were released back to the ocean with GPS devices so veterinarians can track them.
