A Harbor Isle victim turned the tables on five college students who allegedly vandalized his holiday lawn decorations.
According to police, 19-year-old Jared Corbett, 20-year-old Daniel Moskovitz and three other Nassau Community College students gathered together several weapons with the purpose of destroying festive décor. Police say ninja swords, medieval fantasy blades, a machete, a BB gun and a kitchen knife were found on the suspects. They also believe at least five homes were hit during the slashing spree.
One of the victims, Salvatore Celeste, of Harbor Isle, says he immediately ran out and chased the alleged assailants in his car until the suspects' car blew a tire. Celeste held three of the suspects at the scene, but two did get away. Police claim they know the identities of those on the loose and expect to arrest them in the near future.
