Hampton Bays woman accused of fleeing scene of DWI crash

Authorities say they responded to a report of a two-car collision on West Tiana Road.

A Hampton Bays woman accused of driving drunk and fleeing the scene of a crash was arrested on Friday night, according to police.

Authorities say they responded to the two-car collision around 7:30 p.m. on West Tiana Road. Upon arrival, they discovered that one of the drivers was missing.

Officers apprehended 67-year-old Sharon Rutter shortly after and determined she was intoxicated.

She was held for arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court.

No injuries were reported.
