A local organization is on a mission to feed heroes from New York City and Long Island.
Volunteers with "Heros 4 Our Heroes" were out in force at Panico's Community Market in Smithtown on Saturday.
They made 3,200 3-foot-long heroes to deliver to every firehouse, police precinct and veterans hall in New York City and on Long Island.
The FDNY got their delivery on Saturday and the group was also set to feed veterans on Sunday.
The NYPD will be delivered their sandwiches on Monday.
