On the two-year anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, one Haitian church is being rebuilt thanks to donations from its sister church, Saint Francis in Greenlawn.
At Notre Dame du Rosaire, giant cracks in the walls serve as a reminder of what happened two years ago. Parishoners have not been able to hold services in the church since the earthquake hit. Instead, they hold services in a make shift structure with a roof made of tattered tarps.
Father Horelle tells News 12 Long Island he is working hard to move the services before Easter Mass. Horelle says he is very thankful for the support from members of Saint Francis.
