Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a standing order on Tuesday to authorize pharmacists to dispense three different kinds of hormonal contraceptives.

Women can now access oral pills, vaginal rings and a contraceptive patch without a prescription.

Pharmacists may now dispense up to a 12-month supply of these medications without a prescription.
