Gov. Kathy Hochul thanked New Yorkers who stepped up and helped those devastated by Hurricane Ida on the one-year anniversary.
Hochul says her administration is now looking ahead for future disaster situations.
"So, let's have those conversations now while the skies are sunny so that when the rain falls there's no question that the people in the state of New York will be in very, very good hands," says Hochul. "And that's what we are going to continue to do."
The anniversary comes just days after New York state released a new plan to spend $41 million in federal funds to help those still recovering from Ida.
