Gov. Kathy Hochul says construction will begin on a $27 million project to rework Exit 53 on the Long Island Expressway, which connects to Crooked Hill Road.
Two off-ramps will be added to give direct access to Crooked Hill Road, going both eastbound and westbound.
In addition, a second lane will be paved on the eastbound ramp – headed toward the southbound Sagtikos.
Officials say the project will give drivers easier access to shopping, parks and local businesses.
