Gov. Kathy Hochul was at Jones Beach Friday to unveil new tools to keep beachgoers safe from sharks.
She says 60 new drones will be distributed to beaches across the state, including on Long Island.
They will be used to monitor the water and keep an eye out for any shark sightings.
The announcement comes over a week after they were five suspected shark bites in the span of two days.
Beaches across Long Island have also increased patrols since then.
