Hundreds of workers gathered in Westbury Tuesday where Gov. Andrew Cuomo hosted a rally in support of raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour.
The rally at the Yes We Can Community Center was part of the "Drive for 15" RV Tour that took the governor around the state.
"Minimum wage law was [Franklin Delano Roosevelt] preserving the respect and dignity of work. He said it should not just be a wage that sustains you. It should be a wage that provides a decent living," said Gov. Cuomo.
While supporters say an increase would finally help them get the quality of life they've earned, some small business owners argue it would put them out of business.
"The cost of having a business, the overhead is phenomenal and salaries are a big chunk of that," says business owner Ginny McClean.
