The list of residents who will be eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine is about to expand.
People with pre-existing conditions and comorbidities will be able to get their shot starting on Feb. 15.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo made the announcement Friday that people with conditions like cancer, severe obesity, neurological conditions, pregnancy and more will be eligible to be vaccinated.
Cuomo says 94% of people who died from coronavirus are people with comorbidities or other underlying conditions.
The governor says hospitals who have vaccinated at least 75% of their workers have another week to finish distributing their vaccine supply before doses are redirected to those with preexisting conditions.
