Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Sunday that investigators issued 105 violations of COVID-19 restrictions at bars and restaurants in downstate New York this weekend.
The counties where violations were uncovered included Manhattan, Nassau, Suffolk, Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens, the governor said in a Sunday morning conference call with the press.
"This weekend in every county in downstate NY, investigators found blatant disregard for the law at bars & restaurants," the governor tweeted. "105 violations were issued. Suspensions will be determined this week."
The governor added, "The state will enforce health laws. If we don’t, the virus will spread."
Cuomo called on local governments to "do their job" in enforcing COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings.
