Some good Samaritans helped rescue a father and his two small children in the Peconic Bay Wednesday night.
According to Newsday, 8-year-old John Agosta, his uncle Kevin Quarty and John's father Sal heard the calls for help in the bay off Greenport.
They took their boat and found a man holding on to his 5-year-old daughter and clinging to a floating cooler. The man's 9-year-old son was wearing a life jacket.
The three were rescued and checked for hypothermia.
