Go Green: Sea Cliff school teaches students to be environmental friendly
This Saturday is Earth Day! But one Long Island school is trying to think about the Earth every day.
News 12 Long Island's Elizabeth Hashagen takes a tour of Sea Cliff Elementary School in the first part of our weeklong series Go Green.
The students are germinating seeds and plants that will produce food for the cafeteria. And they're saving thousands of water bottles every day by refilling their bottles in the hallways.
Outside, there is a greenhouse where the students are learning from an organic gardener.
Every classroom has a compost, and a box to put scrap paper. The school also recycles ink cartridges.
